Audacity
In 2004, drummer Josh Poorman moved to Gettysburg where he met aspiring guitarist Ethan Stauffer in high school. They both expressed a desire to play in a band and went to work in Josh's mom's garage apartment under the name "The 2.4s" playing covers far beyond their abilities. Stauffer told Poorman about a singer he had met through the school choir named JC Hoffman who they weren’t sure would be interested. They invited him over one afternoon and played through a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song, which went surprisingly well. Unfortunately for the drum and guitar duo, Hoffman was already in a band with bassist Matt Hinton, guitarist TJ Schmitz, and drummer Steve Barako. Unfettered by this news, the members of "The 2.4s” began a series of band betrayals in order to entice bass player Matt Hinton to complete the group. Along the way, they picked up lead guitarist Andy Morrissey, making the close quarters of the garage even more crowded. For the next year they got together infrequently and played two school functions including a battle of the bands. In 2006, after a recommendation by Hoffman and Hinton, the band picked up lead guitarist TJ Schmitz, solidifying the current line-up. From here they began playing shows around Gettysburg and occasionally in the surrounding areas. They also began writing their own music and in 2010 recorded an album at the University of Michigan recording studio.
